Terms of Service

PlanetBYear is a discovery platform for musicians who play by ear. We surface and embed performance clips using each platform's official player — we do not host or store the underlying video files.

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login secure. You must provide accurate information and be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.

You keep ownership of the content and profile information you provide. You grant PlanetBYear a non-exclusive license to display and embed it for the purpose of operating the service.

When you connect a third-party account, you confirm the connected account is yours and that the media you import is yours to display. Our import feature uses read-only access to your own media; it does not post, edit, or delete anything on your connected platforms.

Your use of any connected platform (YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, Meta, and others) is also governed by that platform's own terms. For YouTube, that includes the YouTube Terms of Service. Embedded content remains subject to the rights and rules of the platform that hosts it.

Don't use PlanetBYear to break the law, infringe others' rights, upload content you don't have the right to share, or interfere with the service's operation or security.

Tips and other payments are processed by Stripe and are subject to Stripe's terms. Fees, if any, will be disclosed at the time of the transaction.

PlanetBYear is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that embedded third-party content will always be available.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PlanetBYear will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

You may stop using PlanetBYear and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above; continued use means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
